Today is – possibly – Charles Webster Leadbeater's birthday. A fitting occasion to open his new works archive.

I originally put the archive online exactly one year ago, on what was believed to be his previous birthday. At that time, I deliberately chose a design that looked as though the Internet had already existed around 1910: black and white, angular, simple, and almost somewhat rudimentary. However, very few people understood this design concept. I have therefore completely redesigned the archive and given it a modern, colorful appearance.

I also restored his photographs, enhanced their quality, and carefully colorized them. As a result, they appear more vivid and more immediate—almost as if he were still with us today.

I now present this new archive to the public. It is the result of many months of work, research, and careful attention to detail. Maintaining the archive also involves ongoing costs. Nevertheless, access will remain free so that this valuable knowledge is available to everyone with an interest. The archive is therefore financed through donations, and I hope that some visitors will choose to support the project.

Wow, just 24 hours later, the counter already shows 800 downloads! It seems there are still people interested in CWL.

I received the book Die symbolische Bedeutung des Sterns ("The Symbolic Meaning of the Star"), the German translation of one of his lectures. I scanned it and made it available online. I have also added my scan of the book Denen die Trauern ("To Those Who Mourn") to the archive. Although this text was already included, it is now available in a much better quality.

Another rare book by him in German has found its way into my hands: "Gespräche über Zu Füßen des Meisters". Scanning it will take some time, however, as the book is quite substantial.

After only eleven days, the new archive has already reached 5,370 page views and more than 5,800 downloads! I'm delighted.

The scan of Gespräche über Zu Füßen des Meisters ("Talks on At the Feet of the Master") has now been completed. I scanned and processed nearly 700 pages for this monumental work! The book is exactly 100 years old and is now once again available to the world here in the archive.

Oops – I noticed that, due to a technical error, the English audiobooks could not be downloaded. The issue has now been fixed, and the audiobooks are available again.

In less than a month, the archive has already been viewed more than 10,000 times. Wow!

One of his most important books, "The Chakras", is now also available as an audiobook in the archive.

The archive now features a central overview page, making it easy to check whether a given title is included in the collection. Given the large number of several hundred English-language texts in the archive, this addition proved useful.

Leadbeater’s books cover a wide thematic range. To make it easier to approach his work, I have created a page with recommended starting points in the “His Works” section.

The German section of the archive now includes another of his books in German translation: Das Leben im Jenseits ("Life in the Hereafter"), published in 1914.

I have just expanded the archive with five early works by him: book reviews he published in the magazine "The Theosophical Review" in 1899.

The archive now also includes a book by Leadbeater in Polish titled Zasady Teozofji.

I have discovered another remarkable book by him in German translation: the first volume of his two-volume series Das Innere Leben - Band 1 (original: "The Inner Life - Vol. 1"). You can find it among his German works.

Until now, I only had a verbatim transcript of the book Grundlinien der Theosophie—the German translation of his book “An Outline of Theosophy”—in the archive. As of today, there is also an original scan of this book available here.

The archive now includes another 15 articles he published in 1928 and 1929 in the magazine "The Australian Theosophist".

The “Books in Other Languages” section now also includes two publications translated into Swedish.

For a quick overview, I have now added a timeline of his most important life stages in the section about him.

The German section of the archive has now been expanded with the book Der Mensch: Woher, Wie und Wohin, the German translation of his original "Man: Whence, How, and Whither".

Another Serbo-Croatian translation has found its way into the archive, this time of his work "The Devachan Plane".

In the archive is a new discussion about him, this time even with video. It was produced by Freemasons and deals with his book "The Hidden Life in Freemasonry".

I have found and added four more articles in German, from the magazine “Neue Gedanken” from 1905.

CWL wrote a foreword for "Light on the Path", a little book by Mabel Collins in which she wrote down ancient wisdom of the Masters. The German translation Licht auf den Pfad from 1926 can now be found alongside his other German works.

The archive has been expanded with the text Guardian Angels and Other Unseen Helpers, the published transcript of a lecture he gave in 1903.

“Life after Death” is now also available in the archive in its Icelandic translation Lífið eftir dauðann.

The German section now also includes his book Die Devachan-Ebene from 1911, and I have restored the scan of Naturgeister.

His books in other languages now also include Ясновидение, the Russian translation of his book "Clairvoyance" on clairvoyance.

I have found a rare Polish translation of an article by him about the occult side of music. It is called Okultystyczna strona muzyki, published in 1922 in the Polish magazine Przeglad Teozoficzny, and is now included in the archive’s articles.

As of today, one of his most important works is also available in German translation in the archive: Die Chakras, his monograph with many color plates on the human energy centers.

The archive now includes four additional Hungarian translations of his books, e.g. Élet a halál után, the translation of his book Life after Death.

Within just two months, more than 20,000 downloads of his books and articles have already been recorded from the archive. I am very pleased that his writings are receiving so much interest!

Another book of his in Icelandic translation called Aedri Heimar is now in the archive, and the four Icelandic articles are now available in improved quality.

His book Messages from the Unseen from 1931 is now available in the archive.

Another German translation of one of his books has arrived in the archive: Das verborgene Leben in der Freimaurerei from 1927, about the inner spiritual processes of Masonic ceremonies.

In the archive, an article from 1911 from the magazine "The Adyar Bulletin" has been added.

I have expanded the archive with his lecture The Unseen World from 1906 about the subtle worlds, available in the English section.

For the first time, a Finnish translation of one of his books from 1913 has been added to the archive.

In the archive, the book Light on the Path and Karma by Mabel Collins from 1911 is now available, for which he wrote the foreword.

The Finnish article Mestari Jeesus from the magazine Tietäjä from 1909 is now also available in the archive.

As I discovered, some downloads were unavailable due to a technical issue. I have fixed the problem; all downloads should now work again.

In the English section of the archive, the overview page now also includes a list of all German translations of his works available here.

His article Small Worries in the magazine World Theosophy from March 1933 is now included in the archive.

In an antiquarian bookshop in the Netherlands, I acquired another of his works: The Band of Servers, published posthumously in 1941, now available here.

From now on, this page includes direct links to newly added works in the archive so they can be found more quickly.

In the German magazine Neue Metaphysische Rundschau from 1910, I found a rare article by and about him – 18 pages long, even with a photo!

Since today, the archive also contains another German text by him: an article of a magazine from 1918 featuring three chapters from the book "Mensch: Woher, Wie und Wohin" (Man: Whence, How, and Whither), written by him and Annie Besant.

I have created a new page for the archive. It is called His Rarest Work.

On the introduction page of the archive, you can now see the latest updates at a glance.

Here there is now a new rare article by him: it is called The Aura and originally appeared in December 1896. The article is a German translation of his early work The Aura.

In the English section there is now the article The Law of Sacrifice, published in May 1950 in the magazine The Theosophist.

Now in the English section there is his article An Astral Murder, published in December 1897 in the magazine The Theosophical Review.

I have added all five parts of his article The Christian Creed in the English section of the archive, which were published from September 1897 to February 1898 in The Theosophical Review.

From now on there is a small beginner quiz in the archive: Do you know CWL?

A German article has recently been added, which appeared in June 1896 as a supplement in the magazine Sphinx: CWL gives tips for falling asleep.

Another rare find: in 1896 CWL wrote a chapter on the rights of animals in the book The New Charter. It was not easy to track down, but it is now available in the English section of the archive.

To make things clearer, I've redesigned this page.

Three more of his German-language articles are now in the German part of the archive: Die Freiheit des Sternes, Die Freude des Sternes and Der Friede des Sternes, published beginning in October 1918. They are translations of three lectures from a series of seven lectures in total.

As I discovered, the donation link was broken—I apologize to all visitors who wanted to support CWL Tribute but were unable to do so. It’s working again now, though, and I’d be happy if some of you could make your donation. Three articles from the March and April 1929 issues of The Australian Theosophist have been added: What is the Theosophical Society? and Spiritual Centres and their Work as well as Mihintale.

As for the Spanish books, La Vida Interna Tomo II has now been added—the Spanish translation of Volume 2 of his book The Inner Life.
